BANGOR (PARADE)

Veterans for Peace invite others to join them in the Bangor-Brewer July 4th Parade starting at the Hannaford parking lot in Brewer at 10 a.m. Afterwards, they will gather at the Peace and Justice Center for pizza and a discussion about how to keep peace in the forefront. FMI: call Al at 947-3513.


BANGOR (TOUR)

The Tommy Knockers and More Bus Tour will be happening on Saturday, July 4th, 2 p.m.  at the Bangor Waterfront in the Front Street parking lot. Space is limited. Other dates for the tour will be August 16th, September 20th and October 25th. To reserve a spot call 947-5205.


BANGOR (INFO)

The Downeast Dog Scouts Troop number 159 will have an information booth on the 4th from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bar Harbor Athletic Field. Woof!


BAR HARBOR (PARADE)

As in previous years, members of the MDI peace community invite other folks to honor American troops killed in Iraq by helping them carry 30 banners and wearing black in the 4th of July parade and showing up at 9:30 a.m. at the athletic field in Bar Harbor.


BELFAST (MUSIC)

The Afghan Banana Stand, USA Waste and the Besides will be punk rockin’ the 4th at a free concert at the Belfast City Park from 5 to 8 p.m. The rain date will be July 5th.


BLUE HILL (DANCE)

The Blue Hill contradance will be at the Town Hall with The Oakum String band and caller Chrissy Fowler on July 4th. The family dance is at 6:30 p.m. and the regular dance will be from 8 to 11 p.m. Beginners are welcome. FMI: call 374-5417.


BREWER (CELEBRATION)

Food AND Medicine and the Eastern Maine Labor Council on 20 Ivers Street in Brewer is inviting the public to a 4th of July cookout and celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. and an evening of watching the fireworks over the Penobscot River.  They will have music by Slaid Cleaves, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion.
