A SOUTHERN WIND
- Tuesday 8-10pm
Southern Wind delves into multiple musical genres each week. The show theme rotates around bringing upbeat flavorful music to the masses.
Starting each week with "Nuevo Mexico" by Ottmar Liebert as the show intro, and continuing with Nuevo Flamenco guitar pieces for the first half hour. Then segwaying into one form of Latin beat or another( Cuban, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, etc.) to complete the first hour. I move over to or near this side of the border to start the second hour, featuring Tex-Mex border music, Texas swing, etc., and gradually work my way into New Orleans Rhythm and Blues, Cajun and Zydeco.
I even spend some time with the music of my home town, Chicago Blues, occasionally("Hey, Everything is South of here"!) Really what ever is on my mind the day of the show. The show ends with Carey Bell's harmonica work on "That Spot Right There". Join me for two hours of great music each week!
