We are thrilled to announce the NextWave Radio listener survey, part of our ongoing initiative to engage volunteers and listeners in their 20s and 30s! Our goal is to increase the participation of young people in station programming, community events and leadership. If you’re in your 20s or 30s, we hope that you will participate in our listener survey so that we can learn about how we can better serve YOU. Here’s the link to the survey. We will be accepting submissions now through August 16. We hope that many young people will participate, and it only takes a few minutes to do. Thanks!
WERU’s NextWave Radio Initiative is proud to bring Maine and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sara Trunzo to Fogtown Brewing, 25 Pine Street in Ellsworth on Saturday, August 7 from 4 to 6 pm. This live concert event will be a special meet-up for young WERU volunteers, listeners and friends, and we also welcome the general public.
Among the significant changes in Maine’s coastal communities is the dilemma of affordable housing for their workforce. As more people seek respite along the coast for retirement, second homes or for seasonal rentals, the escalation in housing prices has only made the problem more acute.
First aired on Friday, July 2 at 4-5 pm, Conversations from the Pointed Firs, hosted by Peter Neill, recently featured WERU’S own Rob McCall.
Rob McCall is a minister, musician and creator of the Awandajo Almanack, is heard here on WERU (Fridays at 7:30 am and Sundays at 8:30 am) and circulated across Maine in various publications, as well as through his most recent book, Some Glad Morning, Holding Hope in Apocalyptic Times.
