The Boattalk Boys barge in again with another fun cruise. It’s a two and a half hour maritime expedition up and down Somes Sound, America’s former fiord. It’s a potluck gastronomic glide along the coast of Mount Desert Island, by boatyards, monolithic granite hard spots, watering holes, and various wildlife great for photographing.
The cruise will take place about the classic vessel, the Sea Princess, kindly provided by Bar Harbor Cruises. Everybody brings some finger food and galleons of drink that we put on the engine box to share and devour during the voyage. Rusty Anchor Mike Joyce sits in the back of the boat and converses with anyone while Alan Sprague stands in the front of the boat offering narration of the local sights.
The Sea Princess will leave the Northeast Harbor Town Dock on June 22 at 6:15pm and return around 8:30. The vessel is fully covered and we go whatever the weather.
BoatTalk can be heard on WERU every 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tune in for fun and interesting listening, whether you are a boating person or land lubber!
