WERU’s broadcast operations have changed due to the Coronavirus emergency, and most of our programming is now prerecorded, much of it at home by volunteers. To ensure the well being of our volunteers and staff, all of our volunteer music programmers and public affairs hosts are staying at home, and access to the station is limited to only a couple members of the staff. However, we’ll keep the excellent programming coming your way!
If you are in a position to do so, and would like to support WERU at this difficult time, please consider making a donation. Thank you!
Most of our music shows are being produced at home by our intrepid volunteers. Our live music programming is currently limited to Morning Maine (weekdays 7:00-9:00 a.m.). At 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we feature live call-ins from our public affairs program hosts, reporting on what’s happening in the areas that their shows normally cover. The same short spoken features as listeners normally hear are continuing, and we are announcing community calendar “electronic events” weekdays at 8:45 a.m.
At 2:00 p.m. weekdays we are airing a live “Daily Coronavirus Update” with our News & Public Affairs Manager, Amy Browne. These reports outline what has taken place in Maine today regarding the pandemic, plus lists of resources to help individuals and the community cope with the crisis.
Even though the station is currently operating differently, there is still plenty of great programming to listen to on WERU. Working together (staff, volunteers an listeners) we will keep the station going strong and serving the community. Thank you for doing your part!
Many thanks as well to everyone who has contributed financially to WERU. Your generous support makes it possible for us to do our thing on the radio. If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to WERU. Thank you once again!
