DESCRIPTION:Join us on June 13th for Paces for PAWS\, a fun-filled morning supporting homeless animals right here in our community! Whether you’re running the full 5K or enjoying a casual walk with friends and family\, every step helps animals in need. The race kicks off at the Train Depot Terminus (13 Oak Hill Rd\, Belfast\, ME 04915). Check-in & same day registration starts at 7:30am\, and the race begins at 8:30am. The registration fee of $35 per person helps support local animals in need! Dogs are welcome to join the run or walk\, with proof of rabies vaccination and leash required. SUMMARY:DaPonte String Quartet Concert
DESCRIPTION:The program pairs Britten’s powerful String Quartet No. 2 with Dvořák’s rarely performed and deeply expressive Bass Quintet. Joining the quartet is renowned bassist Edwin Barker\, former Principal Bass of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and one of the nation’s leading chamber musicians. Composed in 1945\, Britten’s String Quartet No. 2 is a landmark work filled with emotional depth\, rhythmic vitality\, and a monumental concluding chaconne inspired by the music of Henry Purcell. Dvořák’s Bass Quintet brings a contrasting spirit of warmth and Bohemian color\, enriched by the sonorous addition of double bass.
