SUMMARY:People-Nature-Art with Sculptor Peter Dransfield
DESCRIPTION:Maine sculptor Peter Dransfield says he has always wanted to get his hands dirty. Working with bronze foundries for almost twenty years\, he has mastered the art of casting\, fabrication and patina. He says bronze frees him from limitations of other materials. Unlike wood and stone\, bronze creates the perfect juxtaposition of finesse and strength. Peter’s sculptures show a deep understanding of his material and an eye for turning bronze into works of art. \n“I strive to create sculpture that shares its physical space\, excites the eye and draws the viewer into its gaze. The constant challenge is to transform cold and rigid metal into warm\, graceful and living sculpture that will share our homes and landscapes.” \nHis work can be seen locally at the Littlefield Gallery in Winter Harbor.
