DESCRIPTION:Thomas Cooper and Dina Vainshtein perform Beethoven Violin Sonata no. 7 in C Minor\, Op. 30\, no 2\, Bartok Romanian Folk Dances\, Brahms Sonatensatz\, Wienawski Fantasie Brilliant Sur des motifs de l’Opera Faust de Gounod Op. 20 \n“… Thomas Lee Cooper took up the tune and suspended time with his absolute conviction and glimmering silver thread of tone.” \n– The Boston Musical Intelligencer \nAmerican violinist Thomas Lee Cooper’s passion for music and the violin began at an early age\, studying piano with his mother alongside his sister\, before subsequently taking up the violin. Since then\, Cooper has performed as a soloist in several countries across continents\, including Canada\, Hong Kong\, Israel\, Italy\, Germany\, and the Netherlands\, and in such venues as Carnegie Weill Hall in New York City\, Severence Hall in Cleveland\, Museo Stradivari in Cremona and the Opera House in Tel Aviv. Cooper has performed concerti with the Colorado College Festival Orchestra\, the Coeur D’Alene Symphony Orchestra\, the Credo Baroque Orchestra\, the Bar Harbor Music Festival Orchestra\, and the Middlesex Chamber Orchestra among others\, and has been broadcasted on WCRB (Boston)\, WHRB (Harvard)\, WCVL (Cleveland)\, and Venice Classical Radio (VCR). \nCooper is a laureate of several prizes and competitions\, such as the Naftzger\, Washington\, and Coeur D’Alene Competitions and most recently the Cremona International Competition\, at which he received the First Prize. \nIn the 2025 – 2026 season\, Cooper appears regularly in concert as a soloists\, with engagements to include appearances with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra\, the Bar Harbor Music Festival Orchestra\, and at Museo Stradivari in Cremona\, and Scena Amadeo in Zagreb. \nAs a chamber musician\, Cooper has had the fortune of sharing the stage with such groups and individuals as the Oberlin Trio\, the Jupiter String Quartet\, David Bowlin\, Amir Eldan\, and Evgeny Sinaiski. He is a founding member of the Tristan Trio\, alongside pianist Aljoša Jurinić\, and cellist Tyler James. \nWith a love of conductor-less ensemble playing\, Cooper has appeared as a guest musician with many of the finest chamber orchestras in the country\, including the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra\, and A Far Cry. He has spent his summers performing at Keshet Eilon in Israel\, the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg\, Nagold Sommermusik in Bavaria and Festival Orford Musique in Quebec. \nA native of the Boston area\, Cooper received his early training from the late Hungarian violinist and musicologist\, Stephen Erdely. He received his formal training through scholarships at the New England Conservatory and Oberlin Conservatory. \nCooper performs on a “Januarius Gaglianus 1751” on generous loan from a private collection. \n“He painted his lines with bold colors; his tone tastefully wavered between silvery delicacy and dark\, grainy power.” \n– The Arts Fuse \nRussian-born pianist Dina Vainshtein has degrees from the Gnesins Institute of Music in Moscow\, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. Ms. Vainshtein received a Special Prize for Best Collaboration at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. \nMs. Vainshtein has performed at Alice Tully Hall and Weill Recital Hall in New York City\, Jordan Hall in Boston and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Other performances include the Ravinia Festival\, Caramoor Festival\, Music Academy of the West\, Meadowmount and Heifitz International Music Institute. \nShe has given live performances on WGBH (Boston) and for NPR’s Performance Today series. Her recording for the Naxos label with violinist Frank Huang received critical acclaim. At present\, Ms. Vainshtein is a collaborative pianist for the Walnut Hill School and the New England Conservatory.

DESCRIPTION:The Danny Fisher-Lochhead Large Ensemble will be performing music from their 2025 album “World Of Difference” as well as a handful of new and eager pieces. The group is an assemblage of some of Maine’s most compelling improvising musicians\, featuring Ryan Blotnick\, Ross Gallagher\, Emma Stanley\, Aaron Henry\, Brian Shankar Adler\, Dan Barrett\, and Jonathan Henderson. The music they make bears the mark of the jazz tradition and various Afro-diasporic musics that formed their training\, and travels out from there to embrace both what’s close at hand and far afield. Luce Spirits is a small and vital place where the music will be so close you can taste it.

Presenting Anton Bruckner’s string quintet—a masterpiece by the 19th-century “contemporary” composer—amid sculptures by Bianca Beck (currently on exhibit at CMCA). Composer and hornist David Byrd-Marrow will also perform his Meditations as a sonic response to Beck’s sculptures.

DESCRIPTION:Thomas Cooper and Dina Vainshtein perform Beethoven Violin Sonata no. 7 in C Minor\, Op. 30\, no 2\, Bartok Romanian Folk Dances\, Brahms Sonatensatz\, Wienawski Fantasie Brilliant Sur des motifs de l’Opera Faust de Gounod Op. 20 \n“… Thomas Lee Cooper took up the tune and suspended time with his absolute conviction and glimmering silver thread of tone.” \n– The Boston Musical Intelligencer \nAmerican violinist Thomas Lee Cooper’s passion for music and the violin began at an early age\, studying piano with his mother alongside his sister\, before subsequently taking up the violin. Since then\, Cooper has performed as a soloist in several countries across continents\, including Canada\, Hong Kong\, Israel\, Italy\, Germany\, and the Netherlands\, and in such venues as Carnegie Weill Hall in New York City\, Severence Hall in Cleveland\, Museo Stradivari in Cremona and the Opera House in Tel Aviv. Cooper has performed concerti with the Colorado College Festival Orchestra\, the Coeur D’Alene Symphony Orchestra\, the Credo Baroque Orchestra\, the Bar Harbor Music Festival Orchestra\, and the Middlesex Chamber Orchestra among others\, and has been broadcasted on WCRB (Boston)\, WHRB (Harvard)\, WCVL (Cleveland)\, and Venice Classical Radio (VCR). \nCooper is a laureate of several prizes and competitions\, such as the Naftzger\, Washington\, and Coeur D’Alene Competitions and most recently the Cremona International Competition\, at which he received the First Prize. \nIn the 2025 – 2026 season\, Cooper appears regularly in concert as a soloists\, with engagements to include appearances with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra\, the Bar Harbor Music Festival Orchestra\, and at Museo Stradivari in Cremona\, and Scena Amadeo in Zagreb. \nAs a chamber musician\, Cooper has had the fortune of sharing the stage with such groups and individuals as the Oberlin Trio\, the Jupiter String Quartet\, David Bowlin\, Amir Eldan\, and Evgeny Sinaiski. He is a founding member of the Tristan Trio\, alongside pianist Aljoša Jurinić\, and cellist Tyler James. \nWith a love of conductor-less ensemble playing\, Cooper has appeared as a guest musician with many of the finest chamber orchestras in the country\, including the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra\, and A Far Cry. He has spent his summers performing at Keshet Eilon in Israel\, the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg\, Nagold Sommermusik in Bavaria and Festival Orford Musique in Quebec. \nA native of the Boston area\, Cooper received his early training from the late Hungarian violinist and musicologist\, Stephen Erdely. He received his formal training through scholarships at the New England Conservatory and Oberlin Conservatory. \nCooper performs on a “Januarius Gaglianus 1751” on generous loan from a private collection. \n“He painted his lines with bold colors; his tone tastefully wavered between silvery delicacy and dark\, grainy power.” \n– The Arts Fuse \nRussian-born pianist Dina Vainshtein has degrees from the Gnesins Institute of Music in Moscow\, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. Ms. Vainshtein received a Special Prize for Best Collaboration at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. \nMs. Vainshtein has performed at Alice Tully Hall and Weill Recital Hall in New York City\, Jordan Hall in Boston and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Other performances include the Ravinia Festival\, Caramoor Festival\, Music Academy of the West\, Meadowmount and Heifitz International Music Institute. \nShe has given live performances on WGBH (Boston) and for NPR’s Performance Today series. Her recording for the Naxos label with violinist Frank Huang received critical acclaim. At present\, Ms. Vainshtein is a collaborative pianist for the Walnut Hill School and the New England Conservatory.
