SUMMARY:COH Summer Sounds Presents The Resonauts
DESCRIPTION:The Resonauts are an acoustic quartet consisting of Guitar\, Fiddle\, Mandolin\, and Bass. They play a mix of jazz\, bluegrass and pop and always with an emphasis on joy and excitement. Their original works consist of progressive bluegrass-jazz instrumentals and songwriting. High Noon could be naturally found in a spaghetti western film. Eudaimonia is a reflective and joyful piece reminiscent of Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Orb Weaver could be a spiritual successor to The White Album or an out take from The Velvet Underground. \nWhile no single identifying characteristic describes their sound best\, their authentic and dynamic presence on stage is a joy to behold for lovers of any genre. If you love acoustic music\, you’ll find something to love about The Resonauts. \nCamden Opera House’s annual Camden Summer Sounds series of free outdoor concerts happens on Sundays in August at 4 p.m. at the Camden Snow Bowl\, 22 Barnestown Road. This summer’s series is sponsored by Maine State Credit Union and Highland Events LLC. Camden Summer Sounds attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn seating and picnics. Admission is free\, though donations are welcome for the opera house’s Community Arts Fund. All dogs must be on leash.

SUMMARY:The Shanty Man\, Geoff Kaufman in Concert at the Sail\, Power\, & Steam Museum in Rockland
DESCRIPTION:Rockland’s Sail\, Power\, and Steam Museum (SPSM) welcomes back folk musician Geoff Kaufman\, Gloucester’s “Shanty Man\,” Saturday\, August 1\, 2026 at 7 p.m. \nKaufman’s music is described as “Acoustic music … with a pinch of salt\,” and for the past 28 years\, he has been leading audiences to find truth\, humor\, and beauty in folk music. Whether singing sailor songs with his quartet\, Forebitter; or performing environmental songs onboard the Sloop Clearwater on the Hudson River; or in solo performances in coffeehouses throughout New England; or in festivals in Europe\, Geoff has entertained and touched audiences near and far. \nSongs of the sea\, songs of the earth\, songs of the heart and the spirit – all of these are in Kaufman’s musical ditty bag. Ancient ballads\, work songs and songs of love; poignant songs of people in struggle\, humous glimpses of human foibles\, and insights into history – all of these are to be woven into Geoff’s concerts. \nAbove all\, at the core of Geoff’s performances is his rich tenor voice and his exuberant love of singing which entices audiences to sing along\, sharing in the exhilaration of full-throated vocalization if they wish. \nSPSM is proud to again add Geoff Kaufman to their series of concerts in support of museum programming. \nTickets are $25 at the door\, and come early – it’s open seating. \nFor more information\, visit https://sailpowersteammuseum.org\, call 207-701-7627 or email sailpowersteammuseum@gmail.com.
