Pianist Ruth Gellsinger from Belfast will accompany the Singers for this set of pieces.\nThe concert will also include uplifting works by Rodgers and Hammerstein\, Irving Berlin\, Morten Lauridsen\, Leonard Bernstein\, and a sea shanty arranged by Maine’s own music educator and composer Gladys Pitcher. As has become the custom for Penobscot Bay Singers Spring Concerts\, there will be special solo performances as well\, including a work for cello performed by Kay Allen from Rockland.

DESCRIPTION:Support for WERU comes from our listeners and from Waldo County Bounty\, co-hosting with Rotary Club of Belfast a “Concert for Food Security” featuring three Maine singer / songwriters: Caroline Cotter\, Tom DiMenna and Louisa Stancioff from 4 – 7 PM on Saturday\, August 8th at the City Boat Landing’s Waterfront Park. All proceeds will be donated to Waldo County Bounty which provides area food pantries with fresh local produce. Volunteers will be collecting donations at three entry points. DESCRIPTION:The Maine Savings Amphitheater welcomes Riley Green’s “Cowboy As It Gets” tour on Saturday\, August 15th. This is shaping up to be one of the best summer tours in all of country music. You’ve got Riley Green hitting the stage with tracks like “You Look Like You Love Me.” That earned him plenty of awards\, particularly for the live renditions. He’s also bringing some company along for the ride. \nJustin Moore and Hannah McFarland\, who just so happen to share a love of whiskey\, will be taking the stage before the main event. You’ll know Justin from “You Me and Whiskey” and Hannah from “Whiskey Into Water.” That should tell you a little bit about what you can expect to see coming from the stage at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in mid-August.
