SUMMARY:Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies 2026
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the 35th anniversary of an iconic Grateful Dead show as it makes a high-energy return to the big screen! On August 16 & 20\, join Dead Heads in your neighborhood – and around the world – for the 2026 Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies. This can’t-miss event features the complete June 17\, 1991 concert from Giants Stadium. \nThe performance launches with a shocking “Eyes Of The World\,” finding the band in peak form from the very first notes. The setlist continues\, seamlessly blending beloved classics like”Truckin’” and “Uncle John’s Band” with rarities such as “Saint Of Circumstance\,” “Might As Well\,” “New Speedway Boogie\,” and “China Doll.” The major highlight of the night is the\ncontinuous teases of “Dark Star” edging its way in and out through the evening at six different points before finally exploding into the full song. The Dead capped off the spectacular night with The Band’s “The Weight\,” a perfect song to send the crowd on its way. \nConsidered one of the greatest shows of the band’s final decade of performing\, 6/17/91 offers a unique auditory experience as one of only two shows captured on 48-track tape. Enjoy a masterful surround sound mix by Jeffrey Norman and multi-camera visuals\, featuring a rare cinematic appearance by both Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick. As a bonus\, this extraordinary screening will also feature an exclusive sneak preview of the legendary “Shakedown Street” from the upcoming Merriweather 6/30/85 release and a special introduction by Grateful Dead Legacy Manager and Audio Archivist\, David Lemieux.\nJoin us\, won’t you? \nAbout MEET UP AT THE MOVIES\nMeet Up at the Movies is an annual event that features concert videos and films of the Grateful Dead\, shown in movie theaters across the country. Each yearly screening occurs only once\, and provides a venue and opportunity for the band’s fans to gather in celebration and camaraderie.

Alessandra Sanguinetti\, 2026 \nWhat does a twenty-five year friendship look like? This film compresses time to reveal its patterns. Guilermina and Bellinda are two cousins growing up in the rural Argentine Pampas. What emerges is a tender portrait exploring the relationship between time and human connection. \nNovember 7\, 12 PM\nBoatbuilders\nDir. Luke Lorentzen\, 2026 \nAcross four seasons\, the skilled craftspeople of Maine’s Brooklin Boat Yard meticulously transform planks of Douglas fir\, mahogany\, and cedar into a 56-foot wooden sailboat—both a fading\, time-honored tradition and a delicate business to manage. Sundance award-winning director Luke Lorentzen mirrors their patience\, presence\, and attention to detail in a reflection on the pride and value of labor that culminates in a breathtaking maiden voyage. \nNovember 7\, 3 PM\nRevolutionaries Never Die\nDir. Mohanad Yaqubi\, 2026 \nTen years ago\, prolific Lebanese documentary filmmaker Jocelyne Saab emailed director Mohanad Yaqubi suggesting a collaboration. He never responded. DESCRIPTION:Missed some of the films on your list or want to share your favorites with friends and family? You’re not alone! \nCatch encore screenings of Camden International Film Festival stand outs at the SPACE and other venues across Maine this fall. \nNovember 10\, 7 PM\nHow to Clean a House in 10 Easy Steps\nDir. Carolina Gonzalez Valencia\, 2026 \nMoving fluidly between performance and reflection\, How to Clean a House in Ten Easy Steps imagines a world in which the director’s mother Beatriz\, a domestic worker in the US\, is a best-selling author. Using the fabricated book as a framework to explore the complex conditions of her life\, mother and daughter weave a fantastical and fragmented tale of immigration\, domestic labor\, authorship\, and mythology. \nNovember 18\, 7 PM\nDirigo Docs \nMaine is not just the gathering place for CIFF\, but a living\, breathing landscape shaped by the storytellers who tend to its memories. Across this year’s selection of locally made short films\, stewardship comes alive as a daily practice. From tending to a wooden boat and caring for farm animals to forging Muslim foodways and preserving Passamaquoddy traditions\, these stories explore what it means to inherit and sustain this place—and its histories—with intention. \nSteward·Ship\, Dir. Luke Kaneb\, 2026\nSweetgrass\, Dir. Mike Sockabasin\, Emily Karlik\, 2024\nOxbow\, Dir. Greg Kohs\, 2026\nFish Film\, Dir. Emma Baiada\, 2026\nClaws for Concern\, Dir. Julia Forsyth\, 2026\nFor a Moment the Clouds Parted and I Felt the Sun\, Dir. Jared Lank\, 2026\nMay the Water Not Freeze\, Dir. Zahira Chaudhry\, 2026\nChildren & Animals\, Dir. Walker Kalan\, 2026
