DESCRIPTION:Hops for Hope – 2 more weeks to help support research for rare diseases! \nHorn Run Brewing of Eastport + Perry\, ME \, and Phoenix Fine Wines in Eastport will be running a signature beer special every Friday in October as part of Hops for Hope. 10% of those sales will support education\, research\, and family support for those suffering from terminal\, rare\, genetic diseases such as Tay Sachs\, Sandhoff and GM1. While these are rare diseases\, there are no cures yet\, but you can help to raise a glass and build hope! DESCRIPTION:It is that time of year again—time for the Annual PICA Fundraising Auction – Our 40th! The Auction will provide a wonderful opportunity to have fun\, do some holiday shopping and support great work for social justice in Maine and in El Salvador. The Annual PICA Auction raises money for our own work and to help support Bangor’s sister city of Carasque\, El Salvador. \nThere will be a silent Auction from 3pm to 5pm with a live auction at 4pm …. Local artisans\, businesses and generous donors offer wonderful items including original artwork\, pottery\, massage\, books\, carpentry\, a handmade quilt\, gift certificates for local restaurants and stores\, flowers\, home made bake goods and more! There will also be Tamales and Bean & Cheese burritos for sale to benefit our Sister City
