DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, July 27\, the East Blue Hill Library will host a “Party in the Park” event featuring the popular steel drum band Flash! In the Pans at the East Blue Hill town park on Curtis Cove Road. This family-friendly\, alcohol-free event is a chance to gather and dance for a good cause. Half of the gate proceeds will benefit East Blue Hill Library operations. Beginning at 6:30 p.m.\, food and drinks will be available for cash purchase. The Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause truck\, cash or check only\, will also be on site. The pan dance will start at 7:30 p.m. and last until 9:00 p.m. Suggested minimum donation is $5 per person. Tudor\, a Deering HS and UNE graduate and athlete\, who lost her life to a sudden brain aneurysm in December 2008. The Karo-5K is in memory of Karolina A. Kurka\, a Scarborough HS and UNH graduate who passed away from an undetected brain aneurysm in July 2011. \nNow in its 18th year\, this annual event has NOW grown to include hundreds of families affected by brain aneurysms or stroke and this day is used to honor survivors and remember loved ones lost to this silent killer. \nFunds raised by the event will benefit our local efforts to support early detection\, education\, fund research\, and create awareness about brain aneurysms in Maine and northern New England. \nPlease join us\, as we “share our tears\, remember with love\, walk & run to honor” Kim\, Karo\, and many other families affected and help save lives!
