SUMMARY:Alice Limoges House Show at Pinecone Studio
DESCRIPTION:An intimate house concert with award winning singer-songwriter Alice Limoges. \nAbout Alice Limoges: \n“As a songwriter\, Limoges brings to mind something akin to a softer-edged Fiona Apple\, or a harder-edged Sarah McLachlan — awfully\, awfully pretty\, but with a flair for the dramatic that creeps in on nearly every track.” – Bangor Daily News\nBorn and raised on a mountain by the sea in coastal Maine\, Alice Limoges was singing before she could walk. With roots grounded in the folk\, jazz\, and rock traditions of her childhood\, Alice’s journey led her through seven years in the New York City music scene before the pandemic guided her back to Maine in 2020. Her artistry is marked by her distinct voice\, visceral songwriting abilities\, and a spirit reminiscent of a classic troubadour. Her songs will make you laugh and cry as she shares relatable stories of her life and observations on being human. \nAlice crafts poetic songs reflecting love\, homecoming\, and mental health\, illuminated by her soulful voice. Whether solo or in collaboration\, her performances draw listeners into the intimate space of her vulnerable original music. Having released seven independent albums/EPs\, her song “No One Underneath” stood as a semi-finalist in the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. Notably\, she contributed to the Grammy Award winning album “Ageless: Songs For The Child Archetype” by Jon Samson. Her song “Hurricane Alley” won the 2025 Maine Songwriting Contest. Her album “Northern Maine” receives regular airplay on WERU.\n\nShe has performed extensively across the Northeast\, including festivals (All Roads Music Festival\, Belfast\, ME; Make Music Harlem\, NYC; Keene Music Festival\, Keene\, NH; Sweet Chariot Music Festival (Swan’s Island\, ME)\, The Campfire Festival\, Cambridge\, MA)\, colleges (Columbia University\, Hamilton College\, SUNY New Paltz\, SUNY Purchase)\, and other legendary venues such as The Cutting Room (NYC)\, Rockwood Music Hall (NYC)\, Club Passim (Boston)\, and Blue (Portland) as well as countless intimate concerts with Sofar Sounds.

SUMMARY:VoXX: Voice of Twenty presents Musical Miracles
DESCRIPTION:The auditioned Midcoast a cappella vocal ensemble VoXX: Voice of Twenty presents its summer concert series\, Musical Miracles\, led by Music Director John Mehrmann. The concerts will be held in four Midcoast venues over the last two weekends in June. \nMany may feel in need of some miracles these days\, so VoXX has chosen to feature works that span a wide range of the miraculous for this concert series. Songs both sacred and secular\, large and small\, celebrate the miracles of nature\, of love\, and of God. \nPurcell’s In these delightful pleasant groves depicts the ever-miraculous return of “cheerful Spring.” Orlando Gibbons’s The Silver Swan and Jakob Arkadelt’s Il bianco e dolce cigno meditate on the beautiful dying song of a heretofore voiceless swan. Pieces by Mozart\, Byrd\, and Francisco López Capillas speak of the miracle of the Resurrection\, while works by Josquin\, Lassus\, and Gjeilo marvel at the promise of mercy. Jonah’s Prayer\, by VoXX Music Director John Mehrmann\, is a hopeful retelling of Jonah’s escape from his fishy prison. Two other contemporary pieces–When the Earth Stands Still\, by Don Macdonald\, and The Peace of Wild Things\, a setting of a Wendell Berry poem by Matthew J. Olson–offer promise of the hope and peace to be found in the nature. These are all miracles\, caught and celebrated in gorgeous music from the 1500s to the present century.

SUMMARY:"Justice For All" - Midcoast Community Chorus Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:Midcoast Community Chorus announces its upcoming concert\, “Justice for All\,” a powerful concert of music with a mission. The concert will be held on June 14\, 2026 at 4pm at The Strom Auditorium at Camden Hills Regional High School.\nBeyond the performance itself\, the chorus will present a community grant of $5\,000 to Come Spring Food Pantry\, a local organization working on the front lines of food insecurity gleaning surplus produce\, reducing food waste\, and serving neighbors with dignity.\nThe concert program draws on music that speaks to themes of equity\, compassion\, and community – from modern classics like Ysaye Barnwell’s Hope to choral versions of classic folks songs like David Mallett’s The Garden Song to contemporary pieces that reflect the world we live in like Crowded Table by the High Women. Special guest vocalists Michael Weferling and Willow Watts will perform. The grant presentation will take place as part of the program\, making the connection between artistic expression and community action visible and tangible for audience members\, who will be invited to sing along on the iconic anthem of resistance and resilience\, “We Shall Overcome”.\n“Music has always been a vehicle for justice\,” said Anna Jones\, Executive Director of Midcoast Community Chorus. “This concert is our opportunity to put that belief into practice\, not just in the songs we sing\, but in what we do with -and for- the community we have built together.”\nCome Spring Food Pantry\, based in Union\, serves the Midcoast through a combination of traditional food pantry services and gleaning – recovering fresh food from farms\, markets\, and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste. Their model treats food access not as charity but as a right\, prioritizing the dignity of every person they serve.
