SUMMARY:Adult Outdoor Skills Day at Camp Beech Cliff
DESCRIPTION:Adults ages 18 and older are invited to Camp Beech Cliff’s Adult Outdoor Skills Day on Sunday\, September 20. Presented by Camp Beech Cliff in partnership with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Maine Outdoor Programs\, this daylong event offers participants the opportunity to build confidence and learn new outdoor skills in a welcoming\, inclusive environment. \nParticipants will choose one three-hour morning workshop and one three-hour afternoon workshop. Options include reading the forested landscape\, lake ecology\, adventure cycling\, archery and bowhunting\, hunting\, and rod-and-reel fishing. \nCheck-in begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $75 and includes both workshops. Participants should bring lunch and snacks and dress for outdoor activities and changing fall conditions. Limited scholarships are available. On-site tent camping is available Saturday night for an additional $25. DESCRIPTION:St Dunstan’s Episcopal Church\, 134 State Street in Ellsworth\, is hosting a Yard Sale and Appraisal Fair on Saturday May 9\, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. \nTables will be filled with our members’ reasonably-priced\, quality gently-used items of all types and descriptions – household and decorative items\, kitchenware\, furniture\, clothing\, collectibles\, outdoor and sports equipment\, etc. \nAs a special treat\, the day will also feature an Appraisal Fair between 9.a.m.and 1 p.m\, Professional appraisers will be on hand to inspect and value items brought in by members of the community. Our appraisers are expert in art and antiques generally\, with specialities in early American and folk art\, and hunting and fishing antiques and collectibles\, particularly decoys. \nAdmission and participation is free. All proceeds from the Yard Sale will benefit the Outreach programs and efforts of St. Dunstan’s. Rain or Shine – the event will be inside\, in our Undercroft/basement. Parking is available in our lot\, and the nearby Moore School and Knowlton Park lots.
