SUMMARY:Horsemanship: A Day with Gamilah Unbridled
DESCRIPTION:Horse owners and equine enthusiasts will have a rare opportunity to learn from nationally recognized liberty horsemanship trainer Patrick of Gamilah Unbridled when he visits Bagaduce River Equine Rescue in Brooksville on Wednesday\, August 19\, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nThe one-day educational event will introduce participants to the principles of liberty horsemanship while emphasizing trust\, communication\, and partnership between horse and human. \nThe morning session will feature Patrick demonstrating liberty work with his own herd\, followed by an afternoon session working with horses from Bagaduce River Equine Rescue. The demonstrations will highlight how liberty horsemanship techniques can benefit horses of all ages and backgrounds\, including rescues\, senior horses\, and horses that are no longer ridden. This part of the day will be enjoyed by both owners and those who simply love horses. \n“Whether you ride competitively\, trail ride\, or simply want a deeper relationship with your horse\, liberty training offers a unique way to build trust and communication\,” organizers said. “This is an opportunity to see firsthand how a willing partnership can be developed through patience\, understanding\, and clear communication.” \nBagaduce River Equine Rescue hopes the event will inspire horse owners throughout the region while showcasing the remarkable potential of rescued horses. \nAdditional event details: https://bagaduceriverequinerescue.weebly.com and https://www.gamilahunbridled.com

SUMMARY:Maine Author Talk : Claire Ackroyd
DESCRIPTION:Buck Memorial Library welcomes Claire Acroyd\, a published author as well as a landscape & garden designer. \nRaised in England among the best traditions of English gardening\, in a large house with a large garden and a large family. 25 years ago she began doing inspections for organic certification for the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA)\, and this is where she found the impetus to write a story. \nHer inspection work provided her with a unique look into the operations of the maple syrup industry and the people who toil in order to bring sugary sweetness to our tables. From that\, “Murder in the Maple Woods” and its follow up\, “Body in the Blueberry Barrens” were born. \nHer books will be available for purchase from Bookstacks.
