SUMMARY:Points North Summer Party
DESCRIPTION:To kick-off another season of incredible nonfiction\, Points North is hosting their all-new annual Summer Party\, Wednesday\, July 15th at Tenderwild Farm in Rockport. Points North turns 10 this year\, and they are celebrating this special milestone with local artists\, new films\, good food\, and a summer night in the garden worth dressing up for! \nThe event honors longtime supporters Ann & Dick Costello\, whose deep and sustained involvement has made so much of this possible\, alongside Biljana Tutorov & Petar Glomazić\, directors of To Hold a Mountain — the first film completed through our Diane Weyermann Fellowship\, and winner of the Grand Jury Prize for World Documentary at Sundance this year. Together\, they’re perfect bookends for a decade of growth: the founders who believed in us first\, and the filmmakers who show what that belief makes possible. \nThe VIP hour (6–7pm) offers an intimate cocktail reception with Points North filmmaker alumni. From 7pm\, expect wood-fired pizza and bites from The Uproot Pie Company and Bleecker & Greer\, custom artmaking with Wet Day Fire and Little Chair Printing\, live music from Kafari\, and a sneak preview of CIFF 2026. Bring something to screenprint or embroider — a shirt\, a bandana\, a tote — or work with materials generously provided by American Roots.

SUMMARY:Points North Presents Fourth Thursday Documentary Screenings
DESCRIPTION:In March\, Points North\, the nonprofit organization behind the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF)\, launched Points North Presents\, a monthly screening series in collaboration with the Strand Theatre. Fourth Thursday documentary screenings continue throughout the Summer leading up until the festival September 17-20. Points North Presents brings some of the year’s best documentaries to Midcoast Maine\, with each screening followed by a community conversation intended to create space for genuine exchange between artwork\, artists\, and local audiences. \nThe Summer slate kicks off with Felipe Bustos Sierra’s Everybody to Kenmure Street on June 25 which includes a post-screening panel discussion produced in partnership with the ACLU Maine. It is followed by Oscar-nominated director Sara Dosa’s Time and Water\, on July 23 and Penny Lane’s Wild Inside on August 27\, both will have facilitated community discussions. \nPoints North will also host a special second screening of Sara Dosa’s Time and Water at 7pm on Friday\, July 24 on North Haven Island\, at Waterman’s Community Center. \nTickets to Rockland and North Haven events can be purchased on Points North’s website at https://pointsnorthinstitute.org/community/points-north-presents/. \nAnd for those attending screenings at the Strand\, conclude your Points North Presents experience with a night cap and recap of the film next door at Lemon Bar. \nPoints North Presents is produced in collaboration with The Strand. Support for the program is generously provided by The Dave Nichols Charitable Trust\, with media support from Midcoast Villager. The series is a program of Points North\, extending the organization’s commitment to advancing the art\, artists\, and audiences of cinematic nonfiction storytelling throughout the year. \nSummer 2026 Lineup \nJune 25\, 7:00pm\nEverybody to Kenmure Street\, dir.
