DESCRIPTION:Meet the spirits of those lost at sea—a shipwreck\, a waterspout\, Confederates\, yellow fever\, and a menagerie at the bottom of the ocean are just a few of the plots visitors may encounter on Twilight Tours.   \nThis indoor evening event takes place throughout the historic Merithew House\, where volunteer actors stationed upstairs and downstairs portray ghosts from the past. Visitors move through the building to hear each story. Pre-registration is encouraged\, walk-ins are welcome. Tours begin at 4pm and depart every 10 minutes. An accessible\, seated version of the program will also be offered for those who prefer to remain in one place. In this format\, the ghosts rotate through the room to share their stories. This wheelchair-accessible presentation begins at 3pm. Registration encouraged.

MCMA alumni Myles and Owen grew up in Midcoast ME\, forever in debt to the angels at MCMA\, but August is from The Big Apple. DESCRIPTION:UUCB Concerts for a Cause presents local string trio Yard Sauce at the UU Church on October 24th to benefit Tedford Housing and Midcoast New Mainers. \nYARD SAUCE is a Maine-based\, acoustic string trio featuring Chris Moore (mandolins and vocals)\, Jeff Christmas (guitar and vocals) and Callie Brennan (fiddle and vocals). Their dynamic live performances draw from the group’s eclectic musical tastes\, diverse regional traditional music influences\, and a deep catalog of original songs. Old-time\, bluegrass\, country and folk traditions (including traditional Shaker music) are all part of the mix in every live set. The trio trades off on lead vocal and harmony duties\, delivering arrangements of traditional and original tunes with their distinctive\, down-to-earth authenticity combined with virtuosic instrumental skills. \nJEFF CHRISTMAS (guitar and vocals). Master of Music from the Boston Conservatory who made his way from pop guitar to musical theater to jazz bands to opera to Americana and just about everything in between. Jeff was raised in North Carolina and has lied in California\, Massachusetts\, Tennessee\, and South Carolina before moving to Portland. Jeff brings all of these regional and genre ingredients and eagerly mixes them into the gumbo that is Yard Sauce. Currently\, Jeff is the director of the Chamber Choir at Bowdoin College and a teaching artist at 318 Maine in Yarmouth. \nCHRIS MOORE (mandolins and vocals) After graduating with a degree in acting from Skidmore College\, Chris moved to New York City\, where he worked as a performance artist\, musician\, puppeteer\, and on the staff of the Arts at St. Ann’s in Brooklyn. Chris has composed\, performed\, and recorded music for dance\, film\, TV\, and theater. He has also performed as a classical soloist and was awarded a Maine Arts Commission Fellowship for songwriting. He is currently the Director of Music Education at 318 Maine in Yarmouth. \nCALLIE BRENNAN (fiddle and vocals) With 2 Master’s degrees in music and violin\, Callie has performed in orchestras all over the world. She recorded a film soundtrack at Abbey Road Studios and and has appeared on stage with well-known artists such as Bela Fleck and The Indigo Girls. Join Frenchman Bay Conservancy\, Ellsworth Public Library\, and Heart of Ellsworth on Wednesday\, October 28\, for an evening walk along the jack-o’-lantern lit trail and a festive community celebration. \nFrom 5–7 PM\, stroll the Riverwalk as glowing pumpkins carved by community members light the trail. The jack-o’-lanterns will remain on display throughout Halloween weekend\, with trail lights illuminating the pumpkins each evening. \nVisitors should park at the City Hall parking lot and walk to the trail. Accessible parking will be available at the Ellsworth Public Library. \nCommunity members are also invited to help create the display by carving and submitting a pumpkin.
