SUMMARY:Ride with the Alewives Bicycle Tour
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that it has been over 100 years since alewives have been able to swim directly from the Atlantic Ocean to China Lake in East Vassalboro? Participate in a cycling tour covering a 14-mile stretch while stopping at various fish ladders and dam removals that facilitate the alewives’ return to their native lake. This will be an informative naturalist tour exploring the different dams within the area\, the history behind the removal of some dams\, and the creation of fish ladders at others to enable the passage of alewives to their native spawning ground. We will include a stop for a picnic lunch in East Vassalboro.  \nJoin us for an engaging ride with the Alewives\, where you can also gain new insights. This event is free of charge and welcomes individuals who enjoy riding road bikes\, cross bikes\, or e-bikes. The ride will proceed at a moderate pace and include several stops to explore historical sites. Participants are required to have a spare tube\, to wear bright-colored clothing and a helmet.  Don’t forget your lunch! \nThe riding route map: Alewives Bike Ride – 14 Miles – MapMyRide  Limited to 12 participants and registration will be required. \nDifficulty Rating \n4 – Moderate \nDifficulty Rating Definition: \nFitness level and/or past experience to sustain the activity at a moderate pace is required. Expect to be active up to 4-6 hours per day. Reasonable breaks in the action.

He subsequently released over thirty albums on Warner/Reprise and various independent labels\, both solo and with bands\, including The Fifth Avenue Band. As a record producer\, he has  articipated in over sixty projects\, including the Grammy-nominated Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the ‘60s\, and Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro\, as well as Laura Nyro’s final album\, Angel In the Dark. He collaborates with acclaimed singer-songwriter Annie Gallup as the duo Hat Check Girl\, and with British keyboardist Harvey Jones as Parker Gray. His music has been featured in film and theater\, and his songs have been performed and recorded by Bette Midler\, Kenny Rogers\, Japan’s Bread & Butter\, and others.  \n2026 heralds the publication of his memoir\, Hardtail Strat—Guitars\, Heroin\, Songs\, and Stories\, by Koehler Books\, along with new album recording and extensive touring in Japan. “One of the best books by a rock musician I’ve ever read . . . DESCRIPTION:Iconic comedian Paula Poundstone is known for her smart\, observational humor and a spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend.  She regularly plays theaters across the country\, hosts a weekly comedy podcast\, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone\, and is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait\, Wait… Don’t Tell Me. She also voiced the character ‘Forgetter Paula’ in the feature films Inside Out and Inside Out 2. \nPaula has starred in several HBO specials\, including Cats\, Cops and Stuff\, which nabbed a cable ACE award for Best Comedy Special. She was the first female comic to host the White House Correspondents Dinner. She filed live coverage of the 1992 Democratic and Republican National Conventions and the Presidential Inaugural for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and at the 93rd Emmy Awards. Paula has starred in two television series\, both entitled The Paula Poundstone Show. Paula’s second book\, The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness\, was one of eight semi-finalists for the Thurber Prize For American Humor; the audiobook was one of five finalists for the AUDIE award for Audiobook of the Year. Paula has released five albums and is featured in several documentaries and compendiums noting influential comedians of our time.
