DJ Denis will be chatting live with vocalist / harmonica player Tommy O’Connell via telephone this Friday morning (February 28th) at 8:30 AM.
The Juke Joint Devils will be stripping it down and joining our very own Jim Bahoosh in the On-Air Studio on Saturday, March 21st from 9 AM – 10 AM during the last hour of “The Saturday Morning Coffeehouse”.
The Juke Joint Devils are a jump and swing blues band whose style draws from Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans blues music of the 1950s as well as the West Coast style of today. They have performed at the Maine Blues Festival, the North Atlantic Blues Festival and the Old Orchard Beach Blues Fest as well as the Make A Wish Foundation fundraiser, the state’s largest single-day fundraiser (raising over $94,000 this past summer). The band performs at venues from Rangeley to Portland, Maine. This band has been together for twelve years and includes members Tommy O’Connell on blues harp and vocals as well as blues music stalwarts Andy Buckland on upright bass, Mark S. Horn on drums and Steve Lynnworth on guitar. In Tommy’s own words the band has “the best lineup yet!”
