DESCRIPTION:Don’t Miss Geoff Kaufman in Concert at the Sail\, Power\, and Steam Museum\, Aug. 1 \nDon’t miss Sail\, Power\, & Steam Museum’s next great in-concert performer in August – It’s Gloucester’s ‘Shanty Man\,’ Geoff Kaufman on Saturday\, August 1\, at 7 p.m. at 75 Mechanic St.\, Rockland\, ME 04841. \nGeoff Kaufman – Saturday\, August 1\, 7 p.m. \nKaufman’s music is described as “Acoustic music … with a pinch of salt\,” and for the past 28 years\, he has been leading audiences to find truth\, humor\, and beauty in folk music. Whether singing sailor songs with his quartet\, Forebitter; or performing environmental songs onboard the Sloop Clearwater on the Hudson River; or in solo performances in coffeehouses throughout New England; or in festivals in Europe\, Geoff has entertained and touched audiences near and far. \nSongs of the sea\, songs of the earth\, songs of the heart and the spirit – all of these are in Kaufman’s musical ditty bag. Ancient ballads\, work songs and songs of love; poignant songs of people in struggle\, humous glimpses of human foibles\, and insights into history – all of these are to be woven into Geoff’s concerts. \nAbove all\, at the core of Geoff’s performances is his rich tenor voice and his exuberant love of singing which entices audiences to sing along\, sharing in the exhilaration of full-throated vocalization if they wish. \nConcerts are open seating\, with tickets $25 at the door.
