Soundings by the Decade

Starting with the Saturday, July 9 show, Soundings (10-11 am, with host Eddie Adelman) will take a look back at music of the last half of the Twentieth Century, taking it decade by decade for five straight weeks, starting with the 1950s and ending with the 1990s on August 6.

Schedule by the Decade:

  • July 9–1950s
  • July 16–1960s
  • July 23–1970s
  • July 30–1980s
  • August 13–1990s

Asked how this idea came about, Eddie said, “I did something similar to this about 10 years ago when Denis Howard had me on as an occasional Morning Maine co-host. Each set would feature a different decade. So, this is just an expansion of that idea with a lot more opportunity to explore each era.”

Eddie has been the host of Soundings since 2019. From 2014-2018 he was a part-time host of Woodstock Nation.

Eddie is also an author. His recently released book, Don’t Get me Started, features 35 short (mostly humor) essays culled from his 24 years of columns and essays which appeared in The Portland Press Herald, The Bangor Daily News and on Maine Public Radio. The book, which also contains 4 one-act plays, is available on Amazon.
