Volunteer as a Folk Music Programmer!

Yes, the “help wanted” sign is out and this may be the WERU volunteer job you’ve been waiting for, whether you know it or not!

Email info@weru.org for more information and to sign up for New Volunteer Orientation (3rd Thursday of each month, 6:00 p.m.).

The WERU Programmer Training Process:

  1. New Volunteer Orientation (3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.)
  2. Audio Literacy Training (How to prepare a show, run the studio equipment and abide by the rules of the road.)
  3. Practice in the Studio (off-air)
  4. Shadow an experienced programmer (on-air)
  5. Substitute Hosting on a Live Program (Most new volunteer programmers this.)
  6. Join the regular program schedule rotation.
  7. Arrive at WERU Saturday morning once a month, very early, to be on the air from 6:00-10:00, serving up great folk music for the people!

There is no obligation to be on the air if you take the training, and likewise we don't guarentee that you'll get in the rotation, but why not give it a try?
