SUMMARY:Annual Rogers Farm Garden Fest & Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:OLD TOWN\, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host its annual Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden Fest & Fun Run on Saturday\, Sept. 12\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden\, 914 Bennoch Road in Old Town. The event is free and open to the public\, with a rain date of Sunday\, Sept. 13.\nVisitors can explore more than 30 themed gardens and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities\, including tastings\, art in the garden and building and racing a veggie vehicle. The event also offers opportunities to learn about pollinator-friendly gardening\, eating seasonally\, soil testing and cover crops.\nA rainbow-themed fun run for youth ages 12 and younger will begin at 11 a.m. Children can arrive early to create a wand or banner to carry during the run and take home as a keepsake.\nRogers Farm Demonstration Garden is a 2-acre teaching garden operated by University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
