On Saturday, July 27 WERU will present, straight from St. Croix, Akae Beka with Vaughn Benjamin, a reincarnation of the legendary band Midnite, bringing their conscious message and heavy groove of their Rasta roots sound to Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine. Opening up the evening will be Maine’s own Gorilla Finger Dub. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the music goes until 11:00. Purchase advance tickets for $20 or get them at the door for $25. Come to the show, have a blast, and support WERU!
A special event beer release from Fogtown Brewing Co., food from the Caribbean Food Whisperer and live painting during the show all add to the fun. Jam the night away under the stars inside Fort Knox. This is a first of its kind event and all are welcome. Be there to witness the niceness of your very own WERU Community Radio!
The event is kid-friendly (kids under 12 get in for free), but dogs are not allowed. Also, Fort Knox is a non-smoking venue. WERU merchandise will be available for sale.
