Annual Rogers Farm Garden Fest & Fun Run

OLD TOWN, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host its annual Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden Fest & Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden, 914 Bennoch Road in Old Town. The event is free and open to the public, with a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 13.
Visitors can explore more than 30 themed gardens and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, including tastings, art in the garden and building and racing a veggie vehicle. The event also offers opportunities to learn about pollinator-friendly gardening, eating seasonally, soil testing and cover crops.
A rainbow-themed fun run for youth ages 12 and younger will begin at 11 a.m. Children can arrive early to create a wand or banner to carry during the run and take home as a keepsake.
Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden is a 2-acre teaching garden operated by University of Maine Cooperative Extension. The garden provides opportunities for people of all ages to explore gardening, food and the environment through hands-on learning.
