Archaeology Then and Now: Exploring Wabanaki Heritage in and around Frenchman Bay

August 14 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free

The Frenchman Bay region has a long history of archaeological research that offers deep-time insights into Wabanaki lifeways. In this talk, Dr. Bonnie Newsom explores the archaeological heritage of Wabanaki peoples in and around Frenchman Bay, considering early researchers, their methods and interpretations, alongside more recent work that gives greater attention to Wabanaki perspectives. Together, these examples illustrate how archaeological practice and understandings of Indigenous heritage in the region have evolved over time.
