The 80-voice Bagaduce Chorale and the GEM Orchestra, under the direction of Bronwyn Kortge present Sir Karl Jenkins’ magnum opus “The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace”. This 13-movement work uses diverse texts, to chronicle the fevered descent into war, the infinite horror of conflict, the desolate aftermath of aggression and the tentative movement towards peace. The work is notable for its powerful and accessible melodies, its rich blend of musical genres and the theatricality of the compositions.

This will be a multimedia performance with the “Armed Man Film,” a work specially commissioned by Sir Karl running simultaneously with choral performance. This will be the first time that “The Armed Man” is presented in Maine with the accompanying film. We are proud to bring this multimedia performance to our Downeast Maine audience!
