Blue Hill Co-op Dialogue Series with Molly Gotwals

Join local educator Molly Gotwals in the Co-op Cafe for a free, 4-week long dive into cooperatives using Jon Steinman’s Grocery Story book as a guide. We’ll explore the past, present, and potential of Co-op Culture.
Session 1: Wednesday, November 4 | 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Before this introductory session, we ask that everyone take a look at the Blue Hill
Co-op website. At the session, we will tour the store, meet with representatives from
each department, and walk through the website together considering the mission
and vision communicated there.
Session 2: Wednesday, November 11 | 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Before this dialogue, read through Chapter 4, page 84 of Grocery Story, and
consider what can be learned from looking at early Grocery Systems’ history.
Session 3: Wednesday, November 18 | 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Before this dialogue, read through Chapter 7, page 160. What can be understood by
looking at today’s coop through the lens of Consumer Food Co-op history? How do
you envision your “What’s Possible North America”?
Session 4: Wednesday, November 25 | 4:30 – 5:30 pm
(alternative date depending on group: December 2)
Before this dialogue, read through Chapter 12, page 244. How might we imagine the
future potential of the Food Co-ops?
