Faith Linking in Action (FLIA) invites the community to our Fall Convening “Building an Advocacy Toolbox” that will be held on Thursday, September 24, 4:30-6PM at the Islamic Center of Maine (151 Park Street in Orono). There will be a presentation by leaders of IAF (Industrial Areas Foundation). IAF (www.industrialareasfoundation.org) is the nation’s largest and longest-standing network of local faith and community-based organizations. They will share about some of their broad-based organizing projects which create new capacity in a community for leadership development, citizen-led action and relationships across the lines that often divide our communities.
