The Blue Hill Public Library will continue Kairos, a series of readings and discussions, with Denis Sweet, a retired professor at Bates College. This sixth module in the series, The Coming Community, will meet once a week for three months (thirteen sessions) on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the library’s Howard Room from September 8 to December 1. Topics of discussion will include: Friedrich Nietzsche’s “Thus Spoke Zarathustra,” Joan Halifax’s “The Fruitful Darkness,” and Stephen Harrod Buhner’s Becoming Vegetalista.” A number of copies will be available at the library to check out.
