Native Seed Swap and Planting Workshop

November 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free

Autumn is the time to save, swap, and plant native seeds. Join the Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation District for a hands-on afternoon of seed saving, pollinator support, and community connection.

What we’ll do:

Swap native seeds. Bring seeds from your garden to share, or just come and discover new native plants for your landscape. Bringing seeds is optional.
Pot milkweed and other butterfly-friendly seeds to support monarchs.
Build bee boxes from repurposed and natural materials to give native bees an overwintering home.
Meet fellow gardeners and share knowledge over fall refreshments.

Native plants evolved alongside Maine’s pollinators. Saving and sharing their seeds preserves genetic diversity suited to our climate and supports the bees, butterflies, and birds that depend on them. All skill levels are welcome.

All materials, instruction, and refreshments are provided.
