Talking Trash: Municipal WasteHub and Blue Hill’s Waste

What happens to the trash in Blue Hill? Reagan Emmerling, Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Municipal WasteHub, will be at the Blue Hill Public Library on Monday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m. to share the ins and outs of recycling. MunicipalWasteHub, a non-profit organization that manages Blue Hill’s trash, operates a full-service waste/recycling facility. The facility can take in unsorted community waste and use sophisticated machinery to sort the trash to pull out any recyclable materials, keeping a lot of waste out of landfills. Reagan will share how each machine works, what materials it recycles, and talk about waste generation and recycling practices in our modern world.
This program is free and open to the public and will be held in the library’s Howard Room. For more information, please contact the library at 374-5515 or email Assistant Director Kayleigh at kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net.
