Two super-talented musicians, Maine-based multi-instrumentalist Noah Fishman and Canadian fiddler and vocalist Clara Rose, will perform live on WERU this Wednesday, August 26, at 3 pm, on 1001 Arts Center Nights. They have a few local concerts coming right up, including in Stonington at 12 pm on Wednesday (presented by the Stonington Public Library), and in Belfast at 5 pm on Thursday (with accordion and fiddle player Emily Troll, presented by Belfast Summer Nights). - Noah Fishman is a performer, composer, and educator. Rooted in Maine, Noah ventures to make bold, playful statements by bending lines between genres. At home on a number of instruments, Noah strives for creativity and connection, spirited performance, and fluid improvisation. Noah has performed across the United States and Europe, and has degrees in music from Princeton University and the University of Michigan. In 2019, Noah was selected for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead residency at The Kennedy Center. In addition to his work as a soloist and bandleader, Noah can be found touring with other artists, writing scores for film and television, and teaching at camps and workshops. Noah currently teaches mandolin and roots music courses at New England Conservatory, and is a returning faculty member at Acadia Trad Fest. Beyond music, Noah enjoys sailing, woodworking, gardening, and getting lost along the rocky coast of Maine.
- Clara Rose is an award-winning violinist and vocalist from Vancouver, Canada, and she grew up on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish People. With a background in Celtic, Balkan, Swedish, blues, bluegrass and jazz folk traditions, Rose effortlessly melds these disparate styles into her own passionate and groovy fiddle voice. A master improviser across many genres and disciplines, Rose’s joyous expression and skillful artistry has a transformative effect on all of her collaborations. Rose has studied with distinguished artists from across Canada and the United States, including Sara Caswell, Jason Anick, Darol Anger, Marc Destrubé and Moira Smiley. In 2025, Rose won the prestigious FreshGrass Fiddle Award for her performance at FreshGrass MassMoCA. She has a degree in violin performance from Berklee College of Music where she was also the recipient of the prestigious Fletcher Bright Scholarship Award, the Live Oak Fiddle Scholarship and the Berklee World Tour Scholarship. Rose performs with The Acoustic Nomads, Clara Rose & Raphaella Hero, a contemplative folk fiddle duo, and fronts the Clara Rose Band, performing her original compositions.
- Emily Troll has a distinctive voice across both her beloved instruments (accordion and fiddle), and is known for her rhythmic drive, spontaneous harmonizing, and creative textures. Emily plays concerts and dances with several projects around New England and beyond, including Pine Tree Flyers, Topspin, and Anadama. She finds connection, humor and great joy in playing with others… and wants to make that as accessible as possible to those around her. Teaching fiddle, accordion, and organizing the Rage Potatoes, an all-comers band in Southern, ME, Emily is known as a cheerleader and community-builder as well as a performer.

Noah Fishman & Friends will feature Clara Rose, extraordinary fiddler from Vancouver currently living in Boston, and Emily Troll, accordionist/fiddler also plays in the beloved Pine Tree Flyers. The trio will be playing an energetic mix original compositions and traditional tunes, with an emphasis on improvisation, exploration, and sounds borrowed from the worlds of jazz, nordic, and chamber music.
