A new monthly DownEast Songcrafters gaggle kicks off in Ellsworth. The venue is the new Field Note Music School, a new hub for music lessons and performance aiming to make music education accessible and affordable for all. The school, formerly the Ellsworth Community Music Institute, has just relocated to 6 State Street.

The songwriters’ get-together, for starters, will be from 6 to 8 p.m on the third Wednesday of the month , Sept.16, (the second meet-up will be October 21). It will be a “round table” style format where songwriters can each have a chance to share one of their original songs, a melody a snippets, an idea and receive feedback.
The first two evenings will be wrangled by Amy Love, a prominent singer/songwriter and music educator in the region.
The second two on 11/18 & 12/16 will be lead by Andy Revkin, https://j.mp/revkinlinks the veteran environmental journalist, former New York Times blogger, and musician—writes and performs folk-Americana roots music, often blending themes of science, human nature, and environmental issues.

There will be no charge but donations are welcome!
